After experimental formats in the field of contemporary dance, improvised ambient live shows and activist work for the feminist collective Trouble in Paradise, Katharina Czok and Melina Geitz meet in the rehearsal room to form a band. Hidden away in there they nonchalantly choreograph their debut album. Leaving the improvisation aside they instead carefully arrange a beautiful and weird piece of electronic pop music. Reduction and repetition become central elements. A drum machine, arpeggios, organs, layered voices and various loops. Warm dada style vocals going nowhere. Kitsch splutters between the sparse beats and bass lines. And the two artists take this kitsch and drive it deeper, turning yet another loop and breaking down what seemed to become a catchy pop hook line until only fragments remain. Resa playfully emancipate themselves from this silly self-referential male-dominated electronic music scene even before a first concert could take place. „Kopf Herz Haut“ combines proto-techno sketches, indie songs and abstract avant garde pieces that remind us of Jenny Hval, Duo Total, Vivian and Cadelilla.
