Jetzt also Gitarrenrock! Wenige Monate nach seinem sanft-sehnsüchtigen Dream-Pop-Werk „Rama Kalala“ zeigt sich Dagobert auf seinem neunten Album „Tier“ von seiner härtesten Seite und singt neun Abhandlungen über das Menschsein über eine druckvolle Gitarrenwand. Weniger sentimental als gewohnt, aber hymnisch wie eh und je, begeistern Dagoberts neue Lieder auch im Gewand einer klassischen und zeitlosen Rockband.

Die Texte sind teilweise genauso brutal wie der neue Sound. In „Hier kommen die Menschen“ heisst es „Süss wie sie wütend werden / Manchmal muss dann jemand sterben / Süss wie sie Kriege führen / Denn ihren Stolz müssen sie spüren“ oder in „Ewiger Flug“ beschreibt Dagobert uns Menschen so: „Ein Klumpen Dreck der zu lang gegärt hat / Das millionste Tier das sich nicht bewährt hat / Wir sind der Zufall und das Chaos“. Den Ausweg aus diesem zerfahrenen Menschsein findet Dagobert schliesslich im Titelsong in der Tier-Werdung: „Formulare Sicherheit / Falsche Scham und keine Zeit / Will ich alles sicher nicht / Lieber noch werd ich zum Tier / Kann wild und böse und allein und frei von allen Sorgen sein“.

Die Wege des Dagobert sind unergründlich. Nach seinem gotisch-suizidalen Kammerspiel „Schwarz“ lieferte er ein hochambitioniertes und erstmals recht gesellschaftskritisches R‘n‘B-Meisterwerk mit dem sperrigen Titel „Dagobert und die wahre Musik vom südlichen Blütenland“ ab, auf welches dann ein hauchzartes Liebes-Album („Rama Kalala“) folgte und nun also schenkt uns Dagobert seine erste philosophische Mini-Rockoper. All das wohlgemerkt in weniger als drei Jahren. Wer gewillt ist, der Stimme dieses Grenzgängers zwischen den Genres und sozialen Schichten zu folgen, wird fürstlich belohnt werden. Das Album „Tier“ lässt sich nämlich auch als eine Art Lebensratgeber lesen, welches das einfache, das wahre Leben propagiert, das uns so fremd geworden ist. Und das bringt uns zu der Essenz dieses Künstlers, der immer noch der randständigste aller Schweizer Musiker ist: in ihrer Einfachheit und unmittelbaren Wucht sind seine ehrlichen Gefühlsbekundungen und Beobachtungen einzigartig unter seinen Zeitgenossen.

Iggy Mayerov are a six-piece indie-pop band from the Czech Republic, blending dreamy nostalgia, shimmering guitars, synth textures, and driving drum-machine beats with emotionally honest songwriting. Led by vocalist and guitarist Tereza Pilařová, alongside Michal Pilař (guitar), Jakub Pilař (bass), Martin Griner (keys, synths), Alžběta Kuklová (backing vocals), and Jiří Hájek (guitar), the band crafts atmospheric songs that explore memory, loss, and the fleeting nature of human experience while remaining irresistibly melodic.

Marjari’s music is defined by intricate layers of guitar sequences recorded with a looper, interwoven with samples and crowned by her delicate, crystalline voice. Her debut LP, Hey Girl, released in 2022, followed the 2021 EP Let’s Ride. Since then, she has performed extensively with her band, solidifying her growing popularity, as evidenced by her victory in Radio Wave’s Starter chart. On Hey Girl, as with her earlier work, Marjari draws deeply from her personal experiences, emotions, and relationships—both platonic and romantic. The album’s intimate tracks explore a wide emotional spectrum, shifting between tenderness, romanticism, melancholy, and raw intensity, all unified by her distinctive songwriting and enchanting vocal delivery.

Obwohl sich der Synthie-Pop-Künstler Nici Pop in seinem Sound eher an 80er-Pop, New Wave oder sogar Italo-Disco als an Hardcore-Punk orientiert, hätte er ohne das DIY-Ethos der Underground-Punk-Szene wohl nie angefangen, seine eigenen Popsongs aufzunehmen. Mit eingängigen Pop-Hooks, zu Herzen gehenden Texten und einem Sound, der sich zwar an der Musik der 80er Jahre orientiert, aber ohne altmodisch zu klingen, hat Nici mit seiner authentischen und sympathischen Ausstrahlung das Publikum überzeugen können, wo immer er auftritt. Nach der Veröffentlichung des Albums „Return to Glory“ im Jahr 2024, gefolgt von einigen Touren durch Europa, kehrt Nici Pop im Jahr 2026 mit mehreren Single-Veröffentlichungen zurück. Die erste davon, „Love Lost”, erschien am 16. Juni.

Singer/guitarist Jeremy Marquez (Brooklyn) and bassist Ben Griffin (Philadelphia) formed the project after connecting through a network of friends. The duo bonded over a shared admiration for contemporaries such as Preoccupations, Ought, and Protomartyr, classic groups like The Fall and Joy Division, and popular local acts Gustaf, BODEGA, and B Boys. They honed a driving, high-energy punk sound and became notable for their infectious live performances. With their latest EP Cause// Effect released in 2025 they’ve introduced a new phase- leaning towards a heavier sound and sentimental lyricism and aim to push further with a new full length album early 2027. With songs that attempt to speak about the chaos, uncertainty, and anxiety of our current moment, Pamphlets position themselves as an unabashedly political call to action.

Their music represents how connected and simultaneously torn apart moments can be, without a raised forefinger.

VYLLA – is a genre-fluid electronic trio from Hanover, Germany which has been founded in April 2022.  A blend of Neo-Soul, Hip Hop, Electronic Music, Art Pop and Jazz creates a special and hypnotizing atmosphere at their concerts. Creating new sounds, mixing genres, breaking boundaries, using lots of effects, composing with the imagination of having a whole orchestra and catapulting the audience into ecstasy. Their compositions make up an urban, extravagant style and transport yourself to the rooms of a dark, dancey disco. Spheric synthesizer sounds broken by Drum ’n‘ Bass Grooves, which are supported by strong basslines. The instrumental foundation is underpinned by political and honest lyrics, but also vulnerable and mystical vocal lines that take the audience into various circles of thoughts and moods. Through the use of effects, listeners are opened up to an experimental, abstract world in which they have not been immersed before.

In one of the forgotten experiments of the 1950s, scientists bombarded plants with radiation to force new mutations, an unpredictable process known as Atomic Gardening. Most attempts failed. But every once in a while a desirable variation could be cultivated further. In the same vein, Atomic Fruit’s music is always mutating, evolving. With members from Sweden, France and Italy, the group formed in 2021 after a serendipitous meeting at a SUUNS concert. With their first show only two weeks later, the band quickly became a fixture of the Berlin underground scene with their genre defying, high intensity live sets. Atomic Fruit combines dreamy psychedelic rock with electronic beats and exploratory songwriting. Drawing on analog synthesizers and guitar pedal tap dancing, their sound takes inspiration from trip hop, jungle, and electronica.

The four-piece Berlin Dream Pop band Carolina Lee uses a minimalist approach to arrange the slow, melancholic songs of singer Nadja. The result is reminiscent of female singer-songwriters of the 70s, psychedelic folk and 90s dreampop with reduced compositions of guitar, bass, drums and keys. Quiet, dreamy and hypnotic, the music creates an untertow that draws you into a time loop oscillating between the past and the present. The debut album ‚Haunted Houses‘ was released in December 2021. Chicago-based producer Beau Wanzer has had a long history in the American Underground Noise/Electronic music community. Starting with a monthly in 2006 (that’s still currently active) focussing on the fringes of electronic music and hosting over 200 lives acts showcasing the darker, seedy elements of the underground. Prior to releasing his first solo output in 2014, Wanzer collaborated with many different artists. Most notably TRAXX as the duo Mutant Beat Dance. Eventually working with other artists, including Rezzett, Maoupa Mazzocchetti, and Steve Summers. Releasing on multitude of diverse labels including Dark Entries, Mannequin, L.I.E.S, Trilogy Tapes, Minimal Wave, Ninja Tune, L.A Club Resource, as well a his own self-released imprint Wanzer has built a diverse catalog of slimy scum covered tunes for the mutant basement dwellers. His output still continues to maintain a consistent flow for the freaks and chicken head eating geeks.

King Dick is the project of Antwerp based musician Wim De Busser. In 2015, the artist decided it was time to write his own songs. De Busser assumed the role of his alter-ego, King Dick, and within a year, he finished his first album: New King Dick. The album has 10 songs, all written, performed, recorded and mixed by De Busser himself. On top of that, he launched his own music label: King Dick Records.

King Dick’s music has been described as lo-fi psych-pop, gothic folk or oompah trash-pop, but in the end, King Dick refuses to be pigeonholed into one musical genre. His music is simply too varied, multi-faceted and agile. With each song, the listener is confronted with a universe of unfamiliar sounds, vibrations and energies. At the same time, however, the songs are still undeniably poppy in nature. But it is as if all poppy elements have been smothered in a thick, greasy psychedelic sauce. A spoonful of mustard right in your face, followed by the most appetizing delicacies.
